Description

This milestone, dating from the late 18th century, is located on the A6 in Claughton. It is made of painted sandstone and features cast-iron plates. The milestone has a half-oval shape with a rounded top. The word 'CLAUGHTON' is inscribed around the base. Above this, there are two iron panels with moulded borders. The left panel reads: 'To Garstang 2 3/4 Miles', while the right panel states: 'To Preston 8 Miles'.
