Description

Claughton Lane Bridge, also known as Number 49, is a bridge over the Lancaster Canal that was opened in 1797, designed by engineer John Rennie. The bridge is constructed from squared sandstone blocks and features a single elliptical arch with a stepped keystone. Below the solid parapets, which have rounded tops, there is a decorative band.
