Description
Old Butts Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick infill and tiled roofs. The original building consisted of a straight range of three framed bays facing south, with a 20th-century wing added to the rear and the east gable end. There is a large external stack at the rear of the central bay, and the entrance, along with a former through-passage, is located to the left of the center. The farmhouse is single storey with an attic, and it has 20th-century casement windows throughout. The main range includes three dormers, while the west extension has an additional two dormers. The ground floor has three windows, a later porch, and a 20th-century door. The framing is incomplete, originally comprising three panels from the sill to the wall-plate with short angle bracing. The gable features three struts to the collar and V-struts. Inside, there are traces of a former cross-beamed ceiling and a large altered inglenook fireplace.
