Description

Hayes Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 20th century. The building is timber-framed with brick and lath-and-plaster infill, featuring a rendered main elevation and a sandstone plinth. It has a 20th-century slate roof and consists of a straight range of three framed bays, with a rear outshut and an end stack that is now enclosed by a lean-to on the west side. The farmhouse stands two storeys tall, with a slightly raised roof, and includes three windows that are three-light casements, as well as two partly glazed doors located at the end bays. The framing originally consisted of four panels from the sill to the wall-plate, which can be seen at the rear, and there are V-struts in the gable.
