Description

Wood House is an early 19th-century house. It is constructed of stuccoed brick, with a hipped slate roof. The house has a double-pile plan and a two-storey porch projecting forward to the left of centre. The facade is in a Regency Gothic style, articulated by implied giant order pilasters that pierce a string course rising to mutules at the cornice. There are six arched windows. They are sash windows with Gothic glazing bars, with one window in the two-storey porch. Hood moulds are present over the ground-floor windows and across the central two bays, which project forward. An extra tripartite window has been inserted centrally in this projection, and a similar window is in the left-end bay. Cornice and blocking courses are also visible on the projection. The porch has a partly glazed door and a plain fanlight.
