Description

The Malt House is an early 19th-century house, formerly an inn. It is constructed of painted brick in a Flemish stretcher bond, with a tiled roof. The main part of the building is a single range, with a slightly lower range attached to the west. A flat-roofed extension was added to the rear in the 20th century. The two-storey main range has a dentilled eaves cornice and four windows, featuring glazing bar sash windows, with one blocked centrally and containing an inn sign. A gabled porch with a 20th-century door is located below the blocked window. The lower range has one blocked window with a glazing bar sash window below, and a 20th-century French casement to the west gable end.
