Description
Brant House is a former farmhouse dating from the 17th century that has been altered over time. It features a timber-framed structure with brick infill and refacing, set on a sandstone plinth, and has a tiled roof. The building originally consisted of a hall with three framed bays and a cross-wing with two framed bays, including a through-passage that backs onto a stack. It is a single storey with an attic and has irregular window placements. There are two dormers in the hall range, two windows below, and a centrally located resited 20th-century glazed door. The gable has one window, while the ground floor includes two windows and a blocked three-light mullioned window on the north face. The framing is nearly complete, with three panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate. An insurance plaque on the north gable is now illegible.
