Description
Netherleigh Court is a stable with a loft above and an adjoining barn, dated 1784, with the barn likely built around the same time. It is constructed of red brick and features tiled roofs. The stable and loft are located to the east of a fold yard and are connected to the barn, which is aligned east-west.
The stable and loft are two storeys high and have been altered over time. They feature coped raised verges and a distinctive lozenge pattern of perforated brickwork on the gable end, which includes a datestone with a carved head in relief and the date inscribed below. The elevation facing the fold yard has had its stable openings altered, with a central loading hatch for the loft above and two rows of perforated brickwork. There are external stairs at the angle between the stable and the barn.
The barn has also been altered and consists of five roof bays and two threshing floors, with perforated brickwork that is partially obscured by a 20th-century extension on the south face, which is not included in the listing. The building is included for its group value.
