Description

Dingle Farmhouse is a circa 1800 red brick farmhouse with tiled roofs. It has a roughly L-shaped plan, comprising a service range aligned east to west, and a rear range aligned north to south. External brick stacks are present on each range. The farmhouse has two storeys, a gable-lit attic, and substantial cellars. A dentilled eaves cornice runs around the building, and the angled elevation facing the fold yard has two windows on each face. Windows are predominantly 2- and 3-light multi-pane casements with cambered heads. An archway on the right-hand side provides access to the kitchen, with steps leading up. A former bakehouse projects to the east, over a former cheese room, and there's an open lean-to at the rear. On the west side of the farmhouse, a tall stair window is positioned to the right of a larger external stack. The interior features oak doors and frames, with some panelling remaining intact in the kitchen. The kitchen floor is constructed of lias slabs. The farmhouse was originally part of the Great Witley Estate.
