Description

Parsonage Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1600, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring painted brick and rendered infill, along with painted brick replacement walling and roughcast at the south-east end. The roof is plain tiled and has a tall brick stack located at the center of the south-west side. The building consists of three framed bays aligned from north-west to south-east, with the central bay being narrow and primarily taken up by a large chimney. It has two storeys, with the framing showing four rows of panels from the sill to the wall-plate. The north-west end includes a king-post truss with two tiers of subsidiary collars and struts, while the south-east end was rebuilt in the late 20th century.

On the south-west front elevation, there are two ground floor casements with three lights; one is from the 19th century and the other from the 20th century. The first floor features two 2-light casements from the 19th century, with one light containing earlier leaded glass. The main entrance consists of two ledged and battened doors, with the left door having a plank weathering and a right side light. Inside, there is a large central chimney that is said to have back-to-back fireplaces.
