ROCHFORD CP off B 4204 (north side) SO 66 NW 3/27 Parsonage Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Circa 1600 with mid-C19 and late C20 alterations. Timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill, painted brick replacement walling, roughcast at south-east end and plain tiled roof with tall brick stack at centre of south-west side of roof. Three framed bays aligned north-west/ south-east; central bay is narrow and mainly occupied by large chimney. Two storeys. Framing: four rows of panels from sill to wall-plate. North-west end has king-post truss with two tiers of subsidiary collars and struts. South-east end was rebuilt in the late C20. South-west front elevation: there are two 3-light ground floor casements, one is C19, the other C20. On the first floor are two 2-light C19 casements: one light contains earlier leaded glass. Two ledged and battened doors; the left one has a plank weathering and a right side light, and forms the main entrance. Interior: large central chimney said to have back-to-back fireplaces.
