Description
This house, located approximately 5 meters north of Witley Manor, dates back to the 17th century. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered brick and lath-and-plaster infill, topped with a tiled roof and brick stacks. The building has a straight range with three framed bays, including a large external stack on the right end bay and a second stack on the left gable end. The entrance is situated in the central bay, with a later lean-to added to the left of the entrance.
The house is two storeys high and was formerly equipped with an attic. It has late 19th-century windows, including a 2-light casement in the central bay on the first floor. The ground floor features a 20th-century door. The gable end has similar 2-light casements, one on each floor, while the attic opening has been blocked.
The framing consists of two panels from the sill to the mid-rail and two panels from the mid-rail to the wall-plate, with a straight brace from the sill to the post, although the lower part is severed. The gable end displays a slightly different pattern from the sill to the mid-rail, including an extra smaller panel and an angle brace from the main post to the tie-beam on the right. Additionally, there are V-struts in the gable and timber weathering at the mid-rail.
