Description
Blackmore Court is a converted field barn and adjoining implement shed, dating from the early 18th century, with a shed added in the mid-19th century. The structure is timber-framed, standing on a lias stone plinth with brick infill, and features tiled roofs.
The converted barn consists of three framed bays with a central threshing floor. It has a rubble plinth topped with a single course of red brick that forms the base for the wooden sill. The framing includes two panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with diagonal bracing, and the upper panels have perforated brickwork arranged in small lozenges. Inside, there are two inclined strut trusses, and the end gable features four queen struts supporting the collar and V-struts.
The adjoining implement shed on the east gable has three rounded brick arched openings, with a window above the central archway. This shed is included for its group value. The rear of the barn is partly obscured by later additions, which are not included in the listing.
