Description

This is a late 17th or early 18th century stable and cider house range, likely built around 1800. It is located at Fetterlocks Farm, near Martley, Shelsley Beauchamp.

The stable is timber-framed with 19th-century brick infill and a gabled plain tile roof. It is single-storey, with two doorways and three windows. Inside, there are chamfered beams, and a four-bay trenched-purlin roof with queen-post trusses to the end bays and interrupted tie-beam trusses with curved inner principals to the collar in the centre.

To the right is a taller cider house range built of brick in an English garden wall bond, with a gabled plain tile roof. It is two storeys high, with a three-window range. The cider house features segmental brick arches over the four plank doors and windows, with dentilled brick eaves. Steps lead to a loft door in the right gable. The interior of the cider house features stop-chamfered beams, flanked by what were likely former stables, and has a five-bay pegged king-post roof with trenched purlins.

A mid-20th century outshut was added to the rear. A three-bay cartshed of similar materials and with a king-post roof is located to the rear right.
