Description
Barrel Heald is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with red brick extensions and infill, along with brick chimneys. A rubble stack projects from the left side. The building is single storey with attics, consisting of two bays that have 20th-century casement windows and 19th-century gabled dormers. There is a brick extension on the left side that includes a 20th-century picture window. The porch and door are located in the gable end, and there is a rear timber-framed wing. Inside, the farmhouse has stop-chamfered beams and a framed ceiling. The left room contains a large fireplace with moulded freestone jambs and a moulded and cambered wooden lintel, along with a balustraded window leading to the rear wing.
