Description
Easthope Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to the early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and lath and plaster infill, with some brick infill on the ground floor. There is a brick extension from the late 18th to early 19th century on the north side and a brick stack. The building features a straight range of two framed bays, a brick extension to the north side, and a lean-to on the south side, which has a large external stack. The entrance is located in the brick extension. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, with a gable end of the timber-framed structure on the right that includes two shallow jetties with a moulded bressummer supported by brackets on the gable wall. The 19th-century windows include one three-light window on the ground floor and another three-light window above, while the single-storey brick section has a two-light window to the left of a plank door. The timber framing shows close-studding with a mid-rail on the ground floor, three panels with a diagonal brace on the first floor, and V-struts in the gable. The interior has not been inspected. The timber-framed range likely represents the remaining end of a projecting cross-wing from a former larger house.
