Description
Lower House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled roof with parallel ridges, a dentilled eaves cornice, and coped verges. The building has a main range and a gabled cross-wing on the left side. It stands two storeys high with attics, a chamfered plinth, and a cellar in the main range. The facade includes three plus one two- and three-light casement windows set under cambered heads, with a plain band above the ground floor. To the left of the main range, there is a half-glazed door located in a pedimented doorcase with panelled reveals. The farmhouse has outer brick stacks, with the southern stack featuring offsets. The rear faces a farmyard and the overall appearance is picturesque. This farmhouse is part of an important group of farm buildings.
