Description
Lower Southwood Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with extensions added in the mid to late 19th century. The building features a timber frame with wattle-and-daub and brick infill panels at the rear, while the front is constructed of red brick. It has parallel ranges with plain tiled roofs, a central brick stack, and a brick cornice with modillions at the front. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two glazed casement windows with segmental heads, along with one glazing bar sash window on the first floor to the left. The central entrance consists of a flush panelled door beneath an overlight and a flat hood. The older section at the rear comprises three framed bays and includes a mix of 19th and 20th-century casement windows. There is also a brick and rubble lean-to on the right side.
