Description
Homme Castle Farm features terraces, retaining walls, and steps located to the west, south, and east of the property. These structures likely date back to the 17th century but were remodeled in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from rubble with brick repairs and buttresses. The south wall is approximately 65 meters long and notably high, with a secondary terrace below it. This wall extends about 40 meters to the west, where it includes a rebuilt pavilion with a pyramidally roofed design at the midpoint. To the east, the wall returns about 35 meters in brick and includes a secondary terrace along with a large T-plan flight of steps leading down to the lawn at the north end. The farmhouse itself was rebuilt after a fire in 1887. Nearby, about 200 meters to the north, is a motte and bailey castle, which is a scheduled ancient monument.
