Description
Spring Cottages, located approximately 10 meters east of Rock House, is a former cottage that has been divided into two units. It is possibly from the 17th century and was altered in the 19th century. The building features a timber frame with brick infill and a sandstone plinth, topped with a tiled roof. It has a straight range of two framed bays with entrances at both gable ends and an inserted back-to-back stack from the 19th century. The structure is single storey with an attic, and it includes 19th-century two-light casement windows, with two on the north gable and a glazing bar sash window on the west side. There is a late 19th-century trellis porch and a ledge door on the north gable, along with a similar door on the south gable. The framing consists of three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with diagonal bracing from the sill to the main post.
