Description

BODENHAM CP BOWLEY TOWN SO 55 SW 5/41 Stock Tree Cottage II

House. Mid- to late C17 with mid-C19 alterations. Part timber-framed with rendered infill, part sandstone rubble and slate roof. Two framed bays aligned north/south, large external sandstone chimney at south end, with large rubble stack and small external C19 brick chimney at north end. Single storey and attic. Framing: one row of square panels at eaves level with short straight braces across outer lower corners of outer panels, East front elevation: two ground floor 2-light C19 casements, central entrance with lean-to canopy on metal brackets and half-glazed door. Attic lights in gable ends. Rubble lean-to outshut at rear. (RCHM Herefs II, p 16, item 23).
