Description
Rose Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill set on a sandstone plinth, along with a painted brick extension and a machine tile roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned north to south, with an additional brick bay to the north. The main stack is located externally on the south gable and is made of sandstone with two diamond-plan brick shafts.
The east front of the cottage has one storey with an attic, which is illuminated by two gabled dormers. On the ground floor, there are five casement windows, and the entrance is positioned to the right, featuring a lean-to tiled canopy and a ledged door. The framing consists of three square panels high, supported by straight angle braces.
