Description
Windmill Cottage is a house that dates from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the early 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed with a timber frame and painted brick infill, and it has been refronted in painted brick, topped with a thatched roof. The building consists of two framed bays that are aligned north to south, featuring a stack at the north gable and a central stack. It is one storey high with an attic, which is illuminated by an eyebrow dormer on the right side. On the ground floor, there are three 2-light casement windows under segmental heads, and the entrance is located to the left, complete with a gabled tiled canopy and a ledged door. Inside, the cottage has chamfered beams with straight cut stops and an open fireplace.
