Description
Field House is a house that dates from the 18th century or earlier, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. The building has two bays aligned north to south and features a large external rubble chimney at the south end, which has offsets and a small rebuilt brick stack.
The east front elevation shows that the house is two storeys high. On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century casement window with three lights, while the first floor has two 19th-century casement windows with two lights each. A 20th-century lean-to outshut is attached to the northern bay, which includes two casement windows in its east elevation, as well as the main entrance and a right side light in the angle with the main range. Additionally, there is a lean-to porch in front of the external chimney, which features a ledged and battened door. At the rear of the house, there is an original window with diamond mullions.
