Description

No 134 Edmund Street is a building constructed in 1897 for C J Company, designed in an Arts and Crafts Gothic style. It is made of brick and terracotta, topped with a slate roof. The structure has three storeys plus an attic and features three bays. The ground floor has a modern shop front. On the first floor, there is a central rectangular window flanked by two canted bay windows, each with ogee heads over the centre lights and decorative, detached scroll-like elements. The second floor has windows similar to those on the first floor, but these are all topped with blank arcading. In the attic, there is a central polygonal cupola accompanied by two three-light flat-headed casement dormer windows. The building is adorned with lush bands of foliage at both the first and second floor levels.
