Description
No 14 Austin Friars is a building dated 1882, featuring five storeys above a basement. The structure has three windows and is constructed of red brick above a painted stone ground floor. The ground floor is adorned with Doric pilasters on a rusticated base, supporting a full entablature. The entrance has plain openings with panelled double doors. The first-floor windows are framed with rubbed brick architrave surrounds and segmental pediments, which incorporate the date 1882 and the initials MO beneath them. The second-floor windows also have architrave surrounds, and there is a richly modelled modillion cornice at this level. The building has a plain attic and an additional storey, along with a stone balustrade in the front area.
