Description
No. 123 on Old Broad Street is a mid-19th century building featuring Gothic architectural elements. It has stone-faced ground and first floors, while the second and third floors are constructed of gault brick with stone dressings. The building stands four storeys tall with attics. The ground floor includes a central round-headed door set within a slightly projecting central bay. To the left, there are paired elliptical-headed windows with foliated Gothic shafts, and to the right, there is an entrance to Austin Friars with a shouldered segmental arch supported by corbels.
The upper floors have windows arranged in groups of two, one, and two. The first-floor windows feature stilted depressed pointed arches. The second-floor windows are trefoil-headed within round-arched openings, which are beneath pointed brick relieving arches. The third-floor windows are segmental-headed and include keystones. Additionally, there are three stone dormers with pointed arches and triangular gables set into a pierced stone parapet.
