Description
No. 23 Austin Friars is a building from 1888, designed by Aston Webb and possibly Ingress Bell. It features a Portland stone front in a late Gothic style. The structure has three storeys, a basement, and dormers. There are three wide windows beneath five-centred arches, with the central openings above the entrance at mezzanine level, providing light to the staircase. The windows have wooden mullions and transoms. The building is topped with a cornice and includes two stone dormers, along with another dormer set back in the centre. Additionally, there are two ornamental rainwater heads.
