Description
Nos 23, 24, and 25 on Great Winchester Street were built in 1925 by Mewe and Davis. This stone building has three storeys plus an attic, featuring a channelled ground floor. To the left, there is a door with a rope twist surround and a pediment. Above and behind the door, the façade has a deep concave shape with three bays, which are flanked by coupled giant Ionic pilasters and attached columns that extend through the first and second floors. To the right, there are three additional bays with giant Ionic pilasters also rising through the first and second floors. A Victorian scroll frieze and a balustraded parapet at the first floor level span the entire building. The attic floor level is topped with a dentilled cornice and a balustraded parapet.
