Description

No. 13 Village Road is a building from around 1870-1880, designed in the Arts and Crafts style. It has two storeys and features three irregularly placed windows. The exterior is made of stock brick, with a first-floor band of vertical bricks. The roof is tiled and includes several half-hipped gable ends. There are tall chimney stacks with arrises, and the eaves are raised above the larger first-floor windows. Most ground floor windows are bay windows with hipped roofs, and all windows are casements. The entrance porch has a round arch that is composed of three planes. Inside, there is a graceful curved staircase and some shouldered door arches that reflect an early Gothic style.
