Description
No 155 Friar Street is a building from the 1870s featuring a gabled frontage. It stands 3 and a half storeys tall and has one bay. The structure is made of brick with ashlar bands and moulded strings above the ground, first, and second floors, topped with a slate roof. There is a two-storey bay above the ground floor that has a crenellated parapet. The attic window is a pointed tripartite lunette with a transom, ogee label, and poppyhead. The shaped gable has a decorated verge. The late 19th-century shopfront has a moulded surround, and inside, there is a charming old-fashioned shop, likely from around 1900, featuring an 'L'-plan counter.
