Description
No 1 Parrock Road is a building dated 1879 but altered in 1885, designed in the Arts and Crafts style. It has two storeys and attics, with the ground floor made of painted brick, the first floor tile-hung, and roughcast attics. The roof is tiled. The building features two gables that contain two canted bays, which are supported on brackets throughout all floors. The first-floor windows are inspired by Ipswich glazing and have bands of pargetting between them, with shell moulding above the centre of each window. There is bolection moulding between the second and first floors. The doorcase is recessed and supported on Tuscan columns. The left side elevation has three gables with pargetting and three first-floor canted bays featuring Ipswich glazing, while the ground floor has large square bays.
