Description
29 Clarence Place is a large, detached house built in the later 19th century. It is of irregular plan and constructed of yellow brick with red brick dressings. The roof is tiled, topped by an octagonal belvedere. The left side features two gables with wooden bargeboards and a tiled roof; it contains two pointed arched windows with Gothick glazing. The ground floor has two mullioned and transomed casements, set within stone surrounds and under hood mouldings. The centre portion has a pebble-dashed first floor with applied timber framing and a projecting two-storey porch. The ground floor of the porch contains a row of trefoliated windows and a pointed arched doorcase. The right side is of yellow brick, with one large gable and two storeys. Nos 1 to 2 (consecutive) form a group, and the wider group of Nos 1 to 28 (consecutive) are designated as buildings of local interest.
