Pair of houses, now flats and attached railings. 1818-1828 with later additions and alterations. Reddish-brown brick with stucco facades, painted to front, unpainted to right side, concealed roof and cast-iron railings and balcony. EXTERIOR: 4 storeys with basement, 3 first-floor windows. Central entrances: 5 roll-edged steps to pair of part-glazed, panelled doors within Doric porch of 2 outer pillars and 2 fluted columns, frieze and cornice. Windows to ground, 1st and 2nd floors: 6/6 sashes in moulded surrounds, central openings to 1st and 2nd floors are blind; sills, continuous sill band to second floor. Second floor cornice. Third floor has 3/6 sashes, blind openings to centre of each house, in tooled architraves. Cornice. Basement openings now blocked. End stacks. Balcony to first floor above porch has double-heart-and-anthemion balustrade. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings attached to porches have stick balusters with lancet and anthemion finials. HISTORICAL NOTE: Brunswick Street marked out by 1818 and built by 1828.
