Description

This is a house, built around 1818 to 1828, and later altered, now used as flats. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in a stretcher bond pattern, with a painted stucco front facade and a Welsh slate roof. The house has two storeys and originally six first-floor windows, with a full-height canted bay on the right-hand side. A plinth runs along the base of the building. The central entrance features five raised steps leading to a six-fielded-panel door, with a fanlight containing glazing bars set in deep, plain reveals. A pilastered doorcase supports a hood. The windows are all 6/6 sashes, taller on the ground floor and narrower on either side of the canted bay, and feature sills and plain reveals. A first-floor band runs around the facade, and wide eaves extend from the roof. The roof is hipped and has rear and end chimneys. The interior has not been inspected. Brunswick Street was laid out in 1818 and constructed by 1828.
