Description

A house, dating to approximately 1818 to 1828, later altered and now used as offices and flats. The house is constructed of reddish-brown brick with painted stucco to the front and side elevations, and has a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high with three windows on the first floor. A chamfered plinth supports a central entrance with a four-panel door and overlight, recessed within a distyle Doric porch featuring a frieze, cornice, and blocking course. All windows are 6/6 sashes with sills, and the ground floor windows have tooled surrounds. The roof is hipped with end and rear stacks. To the left return, the ground floor features two canted bays with 12-pane casements and pilaster strips. The first floor of the return has two 6/6 sashes. The interior includes a central dogleg staircase with stick balusters and a wreathed handrail, and shutters are present on the left side. Brunswick Street was laid out in 1818 and built by 1828.
