Description

A house, now converted into flats, was built between 1818 and 1827, with later additions and alterations. The exterior is characterised by reddish-brown brick with a scored and painted stucco front facade, and a Welsh slate roof with a cast-iron balcony. The house is three storeys high with a basement and has two windows on the first floor. The first floor has French windows with six panes, divided overlights, and margin-lights set in plain reveals. The second floor windows are 3/6 casements and sash windows with flat sills and plain reveals. The ground floor entrance is a flight of steps leading to a partly glazed door with an overlight, alongside two 1/1 sash windows in plain reveals. The basement has a partly glazed door and a casement window. An eaves band runs along the top of the facade, and a rebuilt stack on the right end features a cornice. A continuous balcony with an elongated figure-of-eight and double-harp-and-circle motif runs along the first floor. The interior of the house has not been inspected. Brunswick Street was laid out in 1818 and built upon by 1834.
