Description

66 Clemens Street is a house that has been converted into a wine bar, built around 1818 with later additions and alterations. The building features pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond, a Welsh slate roof, and cast-iron balconies.

The exterior consists of three storeys and three first-floor windows. On the first floor, there are three 8-pane French windows, while the second floor has 4/8 sash windows, all set in plain reveals with sills, blind boxes, and flat channelled arches with keystones. An eaves band runs along the top.

On the ground floor, to the left, there is a part-glazed, 6-panel door with an overlight featuring gothic glazing bars, framed by a pilastered surround with a frieze and hood. To the right, a round carriage arch with imposts and a keystone leads to double plank doors and an overlight. The off-centre shop front has a central glazed entrance flanked by plate-glass windows with aprons and pilaster strips, all topped with overlights that have glazing bars. To the right of this entrance is a 6/6 sash window with a flat channelled arch, raised keystone, and sill. A tall stack with a cornice is located at the left end of the building. The first-floor windows have individual balconies with stick balusters.

The interior has not been inspected.
