Description
23 and 25 Birmingham Road are a pair of cottages dating from around the 17th century. They feature a timber-framed structure with red brick infill panels, while the ground floor is mostly faced in 18th and 19th century red brick. The cottages have a steeply pitched roof covered with cedar shingles and gabled ends, sitting on a sandstone plinth.
No 23 is a one-storey building with an attic. There are steps leading up to a plank door on the right, and to the left of the door is a later small bay window with casements that have glazing bars. An eyebrow dormer at the eaves contains a two-light casement window with glazing bars.
No 25 is two storeys high. It has steps leading up to an off-centre plank door, with a two-light casement window on either side. On the first floor, there is another two-light casement window with glazing bars. The building features two brick chimney stacks on the ridge.
