Description
2 and 3 Church Cottages are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed of red sandstone random rubble, with some rendering on the ground floor, and feature asbestos slate roofs. The roof of No 3 has a slightly steeper pitch. Notable architectural features include a large external stepped stack on the left gable end of No 3, as well as brick stacks on the center and right gable ends. The cottages have a two-cell plan with a cross passage and are two storeys high with two bays. Early 19th century leaded iron casements flank the entrances, and there is an additional small glazed opening to the right of the entrance to No 3. Both cottages have plank doors.
