Description
16 and 18 Sea Lane are a pair of cottages dating from around 1700. They are built with random materials and have red pantiled roofs. No. 16 is a single-storey cottage constructed from clunch with carstone rubble and brick dressings. Its south gable features clunch on the ground floor and carstone on the gable. There is a blocked door and window on the west side, along with one 19th-century brick-dressed window opening. The west gable has an inserted 19th-century boarded door and window beneath a common arched opening. No. 18 is two storeys tall, with a ground floor made of flint, carstone, and white and red clunch rubble, while the first floor is built from brick and carstone. The ground floor has one 2-light arched-headed 19th-century casement window with glazing bars and a 20th-century part-glazed door. The first floor features three 2-light straight-headed casement windows with glazing bars. The building has one ridge stack and one end stack.
