Description

The Lodge Hotel is a hotel built in the mid to late 18th century. It features a red brick facade with carstone returns and a red pantiled roof. The facade facing the road has two storeys with attics and consists of seven bays. There is a straight joint that divides the brick skin, which is attached to the carstone building, between the two western bays and the five eastern bays.

On the ground floor to the east, there is a single sash window with glazing bars and two tripartite sashes with glazing bars, along with a 20th-century flat-roofed bay extension to the west. The first floor has two sashes on the east side, a single sash in the center, and four tripartite sashes with glazing bars on the west side. All window openings have flat rubbed brick cambered arches with a central painted keystone.

A single tripartite dormer with canted sides and sashes with glazing bars is present on the roof, which also has four ridge stacks. The west return forms the entrance and is two storeys high, featuring two three-bay canted brick bows. The northern bow has three ground floor and two first floor sashes with glazing bars, while the southern bow has two ground floor and two first floor sashes with glazing bars. The center has a mid-20th-century glazed porch on the ground floor and two first floor sashes with glazing bars. The gable is plastered and has a single sash with glazing bars on the north side, with a pantiled roof that includes a single stack at the center and south.
