Description
The Red Hart Hotel is a hotel built in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of red brick and features a concrete pantile roof with a single brick gable stack. The eaves are decorated with dentil and dog tooth detailing. The building has three bays and two and a half storeys, set on a plinth.
The central doorway has a 20th-century door framed by an ashlar architrave. On either side of the doorway are canted bay windows from the 19th century, which have glazing bar sashes and are topped with iron balustrades. Above these bays are three 20th-century glazing bar casements in their original openings, each with keystones; the central casement is slightly smaller. The top floor features three similar, smaller casements also with keystones.
To the left of the main structure is a two and a half storey, single bay brick extension that shares the same roofline but is slightly set back. This extension has a single brick gable stack and eaves with the same decorative detailing. It has a replacement window with two glazing bar sashes, and above it is a 20th-century glazing bar casement with a keystone. The top floor of the extension features a similar, smaller casement with a keystone.
