Description
62 and 63 Church Road is a house dating from the 17th century, constructed from red and white clunch, carstone rubble, and brick dressings, topped with red pantiled roofs. The building is two storeys high and has been divided into two dwellings. The northern part, No. 62, has a ground floor and a first floor casement window with a single horizontal glazing bar, along with a part glazed boarded door. The north gable features clunch with brick tumbling, coping, and an end stack. The southern part, No. 63, has two ground floor two-light casements with single glazing bars, set into narrowed 17th century brick dressed rectangular openings, and a central part glazed boarded door. On the first floor, there are three two-light casements with single horizontal glazing bars within 17th century brick dressed openings. The building has brick end quoins and kneelers, with a coped parapet that matches the height of the steeper, earlier roof pitch. There are two end stacks, and the south gable is made of pink clunch, featuring two first floor fire windows and two inserted 20th century attic windows.
