Description
The gate pier and wall at Hunstanton Hall date from the late 17th century and are remnants of a formal garden created after the marriage of Sir Nicholas Le Strange, 4th Baronet, in 1686. The gate pier is made of red brick with stone dressings and is designed in a classical style, featuring a rectangular plan. It has a north rebate stone console bracket and a stone moulded plinth that supports a bracket for a stone roundel, which has since collapsed and is now lying at the base. The garden wall to the south is faced with brick on the east side towards Hunstanton Hall and with squared coursed carstone on the west side, topped with triangular coping.
