House, now shop and flat. c1824-1836 with later additions and alterations including mid-late C20 dormers. Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facade and Welsh slate roof. 3 storeys with attic, 2 first-floor windows. First floor: band surmounted by fielded pilaster strips to ends. To left a canted bay window, 2/2 sash between 1/1 sashes, blind boxes; to right a 6/6 sash with sill. Second floor: band surmounted by fielded pilaster strips. 6/6 sashes with sills. Frieze, cornice, blocking course partly conceals roof dormers. Ground floor: horizontal rustication remains to sides. Steps to entrances both at right side, a glazed door, and 4-panel, part-glazed door with blind fanlight within recess with moulded surround with keystone. To left a cambered carriage arch with keystone, otherwise plate-glass shop window. End stacks. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: Portland Street was laid out 1823-1824.
