Description
Highbury House Antiques is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof, featuring a brick axial stack and a lateral stack at the rear. The building has three storeys and a cellar, with a five-window range that includes 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases beneath gauged brick flat arches, as well as 3/3 sashes and a parapet.
The early 20th-century shop front includes central glazed double doors beneath an open-pediment modillioned hood, along with large plate-glass windows, a fascia board, and a modillioned hood. On the left side of the building, there are three 6/6 sashes and a 20th-century casement in altered openings, all under gauged brick flat arches, along with 3/3 sashes, a fixed light, and a 20th-century casement. There is also a 20th-century door with an overlight, a fixed light, and three blind openings, all under gauged brick segmental arches, and a stucco storey band.
At the rear, there is a later wing that features two bullseye windows, one set in a gauged brick circular arch, and various sashes under gauged brick flat arches. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to contain a blocked fanlight in the hall and a staircase with stick balusters.
