Description

This building, located on the east side of Broad Street in Leominster, is a house dating from the 18th century. It is now used as a shop and a dwelling. The building is constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof, a steeper pitch at the rear, a rendered end stack, and a large brick stack at the rear.

It is four storeys high, with a cellar, and has a three-window front. The windows on the first and second floors are 8/8 sash windows with a sill band, each set beneath a gauged brick flat arch. The windows on the ground floor are 4/4 sash windows. A moulded and modillioned stone cornice runs along the top, leading into a leaded parapet. The central entrance has a six-fielded-panel door with a margin-glazed fanlight, located within a round-headed case and covered by a moulded open pediment hood supported by attached columns. To the left of the main entrance is a tripartite window with plain sashes. To the right is a shop front featuring a four-moulded-panel door, an overlight, and a window with clerestory lights, all beneath simple hoods supported by consoles and moulded pilasters. The right-hand returned side of the building has a rendered gable. The left-hand returned side features roughcast rendering. The interior has not been inspected.
