Description

This is a house, built circa 1814 to 1836, and later used as a shop and flat. It is located on Regent Street, Royal Leamington Spa. The building is constructed of reddish-brown brick with a Welsh slate roof.

The house has two storeys and three windows on the first floor, which contain 6/6 sash windows. A cornice and low parapet sit atop the building, with a hipped roof. The front entrance is a four-panel door, part of which is glazed, set within a surround of Tuscan pilasters, frieze, and cornice. A shop entrance to the left has a part-glazed door and a glazed shop front with matching Tuscan pilasters, frieze, and cornice. A rear stack is present.

The interior of the building has not been inspected. Regent Street, originally known as Cross Street, was laid out between 1808 and 1814, and the earliest buildings in a terrace development date from 1814.
