Description

This building is a house, originally used as offices, now divided into apartments. It was constructed around 1824 to 1836, with subsequent additions and alterations including those made in the mid-20th century. The exterior is pinkish-brown brick with a painted stucco facade and a Welsh slate roof. The building is three stories high with an attic, and has two windows on the first floor. The first floor has tall 1/1 sash windows, whilst the second floor has similar 1/1 sash windows. A cornice and blocking course partially obscures the roof dormer. Steps lead to a side entrance with a panelled door and overlight featuring glazing bars, alongside an inset plate-glass window. There is an end stack. The interior has not been inspected. Portland Street was developed between 1823 and 1824.
