Description

This is a house, later converted into a shop with a flat above, built around 1826, with subsequent additions and alterations. The building is constructed of pinkish-brown brick, with a painted stucco facade and a Welsh slate roof. It is three storeys high, featuring two windows on the first floor. The first floor windows are 6/6 sashes, while the second floor windows are 3/6 sashes, all set in plain reveals and with sills. A cornice runs along the top of the building. The ground floor has a plinth. There are three roll-edged steps leading to a recessed, part-glazed entrance door with an overlight and plain reveals. To the right of the entrance, the shop front has a part-glazed door with fluted pilasters on either side.

Inside, a raised rear area is bordered by fluted Ionic columns supporting a frieze. A wall has been inserted, blocking the space between the columns and the frieze, and part of the frieze has been boxed in or replaced with a plain beam.

Warwick Street was laid out between 1822 and 1826.
